Hi again {{first_name}}
Two years ago this month, Helene changed a lot about how we live here — and while there's still work to do, it's good to see roads open, utilities restored, and this town finding its footing again. Buncombe County recently approved $11.2 million toward repairing Helene-damaged parks, and $1.36 million to help rebuild affordable housing in Arden. Recovery isn't finished, but it's moving.
On a lighter note — fall is here, and there's a lot to get out and enjoy this week.

Weekend run recap
Check out the photos from last Sunday’s hill session!

Luminère at Biltmore — Nightly through Sunday, 4:30 PM until nightfall. The estate grounds transform after dark with a beautiful light installation. Note: this one involves walking the grounds in the evening, so wear good shoes and dress warm.

Gin & Jazz Social — Through Sunday, 5–8:30 PM, The Omni Grove Park Inn. A 1920s-themed evening of live jazz, gin cocktails, and period dining. A lovely, low-key night out.

Manhattan Short Film Festival — Through Sunday, Ferguson Auditorium. A weekend of international short films, with the audience voting on their favorites. Easy, indoor, and a nice matinee if you're looking for something relaxed.
Coming Up
Barktoberfest
Saturday, October 4. A dog-friendly community celebration — bring the grandkids (and their dog, if they have one).

Getting out and supporting local businesses this fall does double duty — you get a nice outing, and local shops and restaurants get a boost during a season that still matters a lot to their recovery.
That’s it for this week.
As always, hit reply if there's something I should know about.
